Art and the City - From Calcutta to London

Shivani Mathur took an unusual route.
Born in Calcutta, India, she currently resides in London. Her paintings capture and reflect her journey from Calcutta to London,and several other cities worldwide here she has lived.Her vivid use of colour and style beautifully blend her traditional Indian roots with an eclectic style. Shivani's works over the years are organised in different series, which are currently being displayed at the Art Bar in Walton Street, SW3 until 21st June 2008.
In addition to being an artist, Shivani is also a financial derivatives expert. Her transformation from a derivatives trader in the Ctiy of London, to an artist of exceptional appeal has been seamless In her Fibonacci series, she takes inspiration from her mathematical background, carefully blending in aesthetic proportions.
