Oil on Canvas 20x20 inches each Gandhi (1869 - 1948)
Gandhi is recognised today, not just for his role in the fight for the Independence of India, but as an Icon who has shown the world that the path of non violence can be as powerful , if not more powerful in the pursuit of justice. Kasturba (1869 - 1944) Gandhi’s wife Kasturba was a political activist, supporting her husband and leading women in the fight for freedom. She worked ceaselessly for the welfare of women. The Kasturba Gandhi fund set up in her memory is for women and children in the villages of India. Himalayas Gandhi’s public persona, lifestyle, and the symbolism that evoke his beliefs are iconic. It is beautifully summed up in the comment of Nobel laureate George Bernard Shaw “Impressions of Gandhi? You might well ask for someone's impression of the Himalayas.” |
